Light Years – Toy Story 30th anniversary exhibition

On September 25, “Años Luz” (Light Years) was inaugurated as part of the exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of Toy Story at Palacio Libertad.

“Años Luz” is an interactive installation that, referencing the iconic Buzz Lightyear, opens up a philosophical and scientific question about “Infinity and beyond.” More than just a character that marked a generation, Buzz invites us to reflect on the immeasurable nature of the cosmos and its connection with time and space. A light year (the distance light travels in twelve months, nearly 9.5 trillion kilometers) helps us grasp how distant the stars are, reminding us that the light we see today left them, in countless cases, thousands or even millions of years ago.

In the installation, the firmament comes alive with flashes and sounds, offering a sensory play that intertwines exploration, science, and imagination.

The exhibition can be visited at Palacio Libertad (Sarmiento 151) from 14h to 20h, until December 14th. A prior reservation is required.
